Jo Bennett
I am 23 years old and have recently graduated with a BA honors degree in Graphic Design from the University of Huddersfield. I have obtained an Adobe certification in InDesign while studying. I also completed a one year long placement at a marketing company called DCI-Artfom where I worked with the point of sale team to create artwork solutions for big cosmetic brands such as L'Oreal, Maybelline and NYX. I am a very hard working individual keen to learn new skills and challenge myself. While studying at university I have challenged myself to learn as many skills as possible such as screen printing, UV printing, digital embroidery and 3D printing. I also have started learning photography while in my final year, including using Photoshop to edit them. While on my placement year I have become very familiar with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat including learning how to check documents before sending them to print.

I am a very hard working individual who strives for perfection in everything I create. I have a passion for learning new skills and I am very good at taking guidance from others. I am very good at working in a team and communicating with my colleagues and clients. I have very efficient time keeping skills and I am able to work to tight deadlines while keeping calm. I enjoy and challenge and working under pressure and keep my work to a very high standard.
Work Experience
DCI-Artform - Junior Designer
2015 - 2016
While studying at university I opted into an extra year to gain work experience on a placement. I was offered a job at DCI-Artform which is a marketing company based in Loughborough. My role here was to create artwork solutions for shop units that were created by the company. We worked for large cosmetic brands such as L'Oreal, Maybelline and NYX. I worked alongside the point of sale team and our clients to create up-to-date, on brand pieces to fit within the brand guidelines of each line. I also had the job of translating many of these units into languages from all over the world. I was given the account Essie to work on by myself throughout the year which meant I had full responsibility to get the artwork finished and proof read before sending to print. Some of this work I had creative freedom within this brand and some of my original work has been used in shops across the UK. I also was one of the first designers to work on the NYX brand within Boots stores within the UK and also Dubai. I was given the opportunity to create new artwork for the CEO of L'Oreal Jean-Paul Agon in which I had a week to design, create, approve and send to print. This year at work really helped me gain perspective on what I want my future career to be and working within current brands is now an aspiration of mine as I thrive working within a team.

Education
Campsmount Technology College
While studying at this high school I achieved 12 GCSE's at grades C and above. This included core subjects English, Maths and all three sciences. I then chose to take Art, Graphic design and IT.
University of Huddersfield
I studied at the University of Huddersfield for four years gaining a years experience in a professional environment in my third year. I have recently graduated obtaining a BA Honors Degree and an Adobe Certification in Adobe InDesign.
